| 1.0.0 | 14/06/2026 | First official version of the Togere Account and Data Deletion Policy. |
1. Objective
This policy explains how users can request the deletion of their account and what happens to the associated data once the process has started.
Togere is designed following principles of data minimization and user control, so we provide clear mechanisms for leaving the platform and requesting the deletion of associated personal information.
2. Right to delete the account
Any user can request the deletion of their account at any time.
The deletion of the account can be done:
- From the options available within the application.
- From the official website when such functionality is available.
- By request sent to rgpd@togere.com.
It will not be necessary to justify the request.
3. Difference between deactivate and delete
Deactivation
- The account is no longer visible to other users.
- The data remains stored.
- The user can reactivate the account later.
Elimination
- The permanent deletion process starts.
- The account is no longer available.
- The data will be deleted or anonymized as provided in this policy.
4. Data that is deleted
Upon account deletion, Togere will endeavor to delete or anonymize:
- Display name.
- User alias.
- Email address.
- Profile image.
- Personal settings.
- Profile information.
- Associated authentication data.
- Other personal data linked to the account.
5. Covers and generated content
When technically possible and legally appropriate:
- Covers may be deleted.
- Comments may be deleted.
- Reactions may be deleted.
In certain cases, some elements may be kept anonymized to preserve the technical integrity of conversations, statistics or community records.
6. Anonymized data
Anonymization implies that the information can no longer be reasonably associated with an identified or identifiable person.
Anonymized data may be retained to:
- Statistics added.
- Platform security.
- Fraud prevention.
- Investigation of technical incidents.
Anonymized data is no longer considered personal data.
7. Elimination deadlines
Togere will attempt to process deletion requests within a reasonable time.
Certain technical operations may require additional time to delete temporary backups, update distributed systems, or complete synchronization processes.
During this period, the account will remain inaccessible to the user and third parties.
8. Backups
For security and service continuity reasons, some data may temporarily remain on backup systems.
- They will not be used to reactivate the account.
- They will not be publicly visible.
- They will be deleted or overwritten according to the normal backup retention cycle.
9. Information that may be retained
Certain information may be retained when there is a legal obligation or legitimate security need.
- Compliance with legal obligations.
- Fraud prevention.
- Platform protection.
- Dispute resolution.
- Compliance with requirements of competent authorities.
Conservation will be limited to the time strictly necessary.
10. Suspended or blocked accounts
Voluntary deletion of an account will not prevent Togere from retaining certain minimum information necessary to enforce security measures, detect repeat offenses, prevent abuse, or comply with legal obligations.
11. Requests for legal representatives
When applicable legislation allows, duly accredited legal representatives may request the deletion of accounts linked to minors or people over whom they have legal representation.
Togere may request reasonable documentation to verify such representation.
12. Data portability
When technically feasible and legally required, users may request a copy of the data associated with their account before deleting it.
Applications may be sent to rgpd@togere.com.
13. Deleting inactive accounts
Togere may delete or anonymize accounts that remain inactive for prolonged periods when necessary for the management of the service.
Whenever possible, we will try to inform the user in advance.
14. Identity verification
To protect the security of users, Togere may take reasonable measures to verify that the deletion request comes from the legitimate account holder.
These verifications will be limited to what is strictly necessary.
15. Effects of elimination
Once the process is complete:
- The account cannot be recovered.
- Access to the profile will end.
- The user will lose access to associated functionalities.
- Certain data may only remain in anonymized form or when there is a legal obligation to preserve it.
The deletion will be permanent.
16. Modifications to this policy
The Digital Resource Association may update this policy to adapt it to regulatory changes, technical improvements, platform changes or new security requirements.
Updated versions will be available in the app and on the official website.
